We offer a range of illustrated talks and guided tours at Selly Manor. Book-able in advance, these look at the background to the houses and local history. Visits can be tailored to a group’s needs.

Talk & Tour of Selly Manor

A tour of the Manor with one of our experienced guides – looking at the history of the buildings and the beautiful period furniture collection – lasts for about an hour.

The tour can be complemented with an illustrated talk about the development of the buildings. Lasting approximately 45 minutes, it includes details of George Cadbury’s fascinating removal and relocation of the buildings, dozens of archival maps, photographs, paintings and sketches.

We will be happy to provide simple refreshments, such as tea and coffee, and recommend several local places for food.

Bournville Walking Tour

Our guides also offer a fascinating tour of George Cadbury’s famous Bournville garden village, which today is managed by Bournville Village Trust.

The tour includes a visit to Bournville village green, explanations about the public buildings created for residents and a look at the architecture of many houses.

Lasting approximately 30 minutes the tour can be tailored to suit your interests.
