As You Like It is pure romantic comedy, a play about love and simple pastoral pleasures, complete with two disguised princesses, a court jester, loyal servant, warring brothers, a resident malcontent and more songs than you can shake a Shakespearean stick at. It is the perfect June production without a hint of heartbreak in Shakespeare’s sunny ending. Although the four romantic couples meet some resistance along the way, the chase proves pleasantly piquant and the outcome rather fulfilling.
Enjoy this classic Shakespeare comedy in the stunning historic garden of Selly Manor Museum. Join the talented students from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire for a very special outdoor performance. Bring along a picnic and enjoy summer evening entertainment.
